It’s Thanksgiving, Remember…

There is little doubt that the year 2022 didn’t turn out the way many of us planned or hoped for. As the year went by, 2022 arguably took a downward turn as the world watched in horror the financial crises unfold, wars and conflicts arose, continued pandemic concerns, residual supply chain issues, and inflation and soaring prices. Many fortunes were erased. Futures were altered. Lives were damaged.

The year 2022 has been filled with great turmoil and devastation but it wasn’t all bad news and gloom. There were also countless triumphs and victories. The world also witnessed the triumph of the human spirit in the darkness of despair and trial. Good still survived when ‘bad’ things happened without explanation.

As we enter the 2022 Holiday Season let us enter with a spirit of gratitude and thankfulness. Let us aspire to be the light the world needs. Let us reflect on our lives and the events that surround us with a spirit of gratitude and happiness. Let us remember who we are and those who mean so much to us. Let us lift others. Let us strive to build a better world. Let us build better families and relationships. Let us build better marriages and homes. Let us build internal peace so we can share that peace with those we come in contact with.

In Steve Maraboli’s book, Life, the Truth, and Being Free, there is a passage that reads:

“When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully.

When there is darkness, dare to be the first to shine a light.

When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it.

When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway.

When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back.

When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some.

When you’re feeling tired, dare to keep going.

When times are tough, dare to be tougher.

When love hurts you, dare to love again.

When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal.

When another is lost, dare to help them find the way.

When a friend falls, dare to be the first to extend a hand.

When you cross paths with another, dare to make them smile.

When you feel great, dare to help someone else feel great too.

When the day has ended, dare to feel as if you’ve done your best.

Dare to be the best you can —

At all times, Dare to be!”

We here at the CHADIE Foundation, wish you a continued prosperous 2022 and 2023. May you find great happiness in gratitude.

“Gratitude turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity…it makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” Melody Beattie
